White glaze pouring bowl' with hidden engraved flying geese pattern, Yuan Dynasty (1279-1368), Guanfu Museum, Shanghai.
In the 15th year of the Zhizheng Period, the Yuan Dynasty government established the Fuliang Porcelain Bureau in Jingdezhen for the first time, an administrative government agency to manage porcelain firing. Shufu glaze is the general name for a variety of white glaze created and fired in Jingdezhen during this period. Because the carcass is thick and heavy, the glaze is devitrified, the decoration techniques are mostly stamped or secretly carved, and the themes are simple. The 匜 is an ancient ustensil used for watering during washing. This bow is of a shallow style, with a stream on one side and a small round tie on the lower stream, which can be carried with a rope. The inner wall and bottom are secretly engraved with entwining flowers and reed and wild goose patterns. It is a typical artifact of the Yuan Dynasty.
