Shonzui porcelain was exclusively crafted in Jingdezhen for the Japanese market during the end of the Ming dynasty. Its name derives from the Shonzui inscription found on some pieces. Shonzui porcelain primarily comprised wares for tea ceremonies and kaiseki meals, featuring intricate designs with geometric patterns, brocade motifs, and circular panels, all imbued with distinctive Japanese aesthetics.
