fashion156 : Knittin’ up a Storm

2

On our very first date way back in freezing March, I ended up having to lend boyfriend my chunky, oversized H&M scarf – almost a shawl, really – to prevent him being struck down by hypothermia after having left the house with no jacket on. True story! This is something that I’ve definitely noticed with you boys, a vaguely macho-ist tendency to forego warm enough clothing even in rather unforgiving weather, like the one we’ve been experiencing the last few days.

Whether this is due to wanting to show off your biceps or simply not being able to commit to a single jacket or sweater, it is going to be revolutionized as the A/W runways decisively featured super warm chunky knitwear in all possible ways, shapes and forms – as you can see in fashion156’s new knit issue. Not even the pickiest amongst you need ever go cold again!
From Burberry Prorsum’s military inspired v-necks and oversized-almost-sweater-dress knits to the delights of Dolce & Gabbana’s sleek metallic sweaters, the A/ W runway was bursting with desire to keep everybody nice and cozy. To achieve that same warm fuzzy feeling and not have to pawn your motorbike - or PC – head to high street classics Topman, Reiss, and Paul Smith for wonderful selections of stocky to slender knits.

Accessorizing is clearly no longer a female prerogative, especially when it manages to be both aesthetically pleasing and practical – black aviator leather gloves and hats as seen at Burberry should definitely be on you wish list, together with luxurious Hermès cashmere scarves, and drastically less expensive H&M ones. So go grab yourselves some sort of wool, and no more pretending you are impervious to the arctic climate!
