A fine and rare blue and white pear-shaped ewer. Qianlong seal mark and of the period
Finely painted including simulated 'heaping and piling' with two four-lobed cartouches enclosing a peach and loquat sprays, flanked by peony and chrysanthemum sprays, between lotus-petal panels above the foot and a lotus scroll around the shoulders, the neck with upright plantain, divided by a strap handle above three raised bosses decorated with lingzhi sprays opposite the curved elongated spout supported by the cloud-shaped strut and painted with foliate scrolls above a lingzhi spray framed by ruyi heads (hairline crack to strut, minor chips to spout). 26.5cm (10½in) high.- Estimate: £40,000 - 50,000
