well potted with a globular body supported on a slightly tapered foot, rising to a tall slender neck, covered overall with a densely flecked olive-green glaze, the mouth and footring applied with a brown wash, the footring applied with a brown wash, encircling the countersunk base impressed with a six-character reign mark further dressed in brown, stand.

Note: A related vase but of slightly larger dimensions was sold in our London rooms, 10th December 1991, lot 281; another in these rooms, 16th May 1989, lot 214; and a third was sold at Christie's London, 18th June 2002, lot 50.

Compare a larger vase of similar globular form, but with a tall, subtly waisted cylindrical neck, in the Nanjing Museum, Nanjing, illustrated in The Official Kiln Porcelain of the Chinese Qing Dynasty, Shanghai, 2003, p. 348; and another published in Regina Krahl, Chinese Ceramics from the Meiyintang Collection, vol. 2, London, 1994, pl. 935.
