naturalistically carved with elongated fingers and curling tips beside two smaller attendant fruits, all issuing from an openwork stalk bearing large lobed leaves with detailed incised veins and furling edges, the natural lumpy texture of the fruit captured by subtle surface bumps and glossy polish, the stone of a pale celadon tone mottled with milky inclusions; 13cm., 5 1/8 in. Lot 10. Estimation 4,000-6,000 GBP.
