The tall, bulbous body ends in a flared and wide mouth. Underneath, the vase shows at the center the neatly incised six- character seal mark of the Qianlong Period (1736-1795).
The vase is in very good condition apart from one chip at the inner foot rim. It measures 20 cm in height.
Langyao hong (Sang de Boeuf)
The method of porcelain decoration in the Sang de Boeuf style was developed at the Kangxi imperial kilns at Jingdezhen, East China, under the supervision of Lang Tingji (1663-1715) during the Kangxi reign (1662-1722).
The thick and vitreous deep bright red glaze gives the Sang de Boeuf porcelains their distinctive appearance.
The traditional Sang de Boeuf glazing technique inspired European artists time and time again.
