Good carvings imitating traditional Han, Ming and Qing dynasty styles
These five Chinese carvings were made of jade and agate during the Qing dynasty (1644-1912) or somewhat later. Rendered is an archaistic jade rhyton, a square belt hook with figures and a so called ‘mutton fat jade’ belt hook with flecks of turquoise in form of a mother dragon with his child. Included is also an agate brush washer with boys and bats as well as a boar with a parrot on its back.
The color ranges from a translucent white with russet inclusions to a pale green celadon tone.
The carving show partly open work and a fine, detailed craftsmanship.
