The bowl is mounted with a metal rim, covered with a thick black glaze, stopping irregularly above the foot exposing the chocolate-brown body. The lacquer stand is raised on a splayed foot, supporting a circular flange, encircling a globular receptacle rising to an incurved rim. Bowl: 4 1/2 in. (11.5 cm.) diam., Japanese wood box.
