The exterior of the vase is freely carved with three pairs of peony blossoms borne on meandering scrolls issuing broad leaves, between a band of elongated petals around the foot and a band of rounded petals on the shoulder, and is covered with creamy white slip under a clear glaze against the buff body, with the exception of the deeply sunken base which reveals the buff biscuit. 12 º inch.
