Shafts poured into parts. Brands on both Fußoberseiten. - Foot area of a part badly damaged.
Vessel in shape and decoration of two perfectly matched, fittable together parts. Strictly horizontally articulated structure and loosened by alternating smooth-hunched with densely ornamented lots of light and shade toning contours. Triple getreppter border of the foot, on steep bulge tail movement with shell-shaped curls, three heads in cartridges and fruits.Wulstförmiges, Settled by strong constriction, formed of smooth longitudinal bosses and fitting factory foot upper ornament. Shaft barrel with egg and dart pattern, wave bands and tongue ring, vases knob with three heads in tail plant and three grotesque clasps. Kuppa designed in accordance with the foot, altered decor on the upper part, is coat of arms cartridges. On the cylindrical cup mouth - again consistent in both parts - engraved vine decoration with inscription: THE BLESSING OF HERN maketh rich WITHOUT every effort HINRICH KRÖGER AO 1585.
One widespread, characterized by Wenzel Jamnitzer Cup form following, provides the piece with its elongated proportions, on heavy acting, much wider than the foot landscaped cuppa and the uniform, flat relief decor a characteristic of the outgoing century style stage shows. Documented is by design Georg Wech Marketers d. Ä. from a 1579 series appeared. The highly trained here tail plant decor can be found, however, in our trophy in only a coarsened form (see. Inv. No. 1874.382).
