the tapered body resting on a slightly splayed foot and surmounted by a short neck bordered with a flange, the upper body carved through the layer of brown slip to the buff body beneath with two friezes of meandering scrollwork, the lower with stylised petals, the base inscribed with two characters reading Chen Yi; 25.8 cm, 10 1/8  in.
