the elegantly tapering hexagonally facetted body rising from a short spreading foot to a tall slender neck with an everted rim, covered overall with a soft bluish-green glaze thinning to white at the edges, the base with an underglaze blue six-character seal mark.
Note: This vase is extremely rare for its elegant hexagonal form and no other related example appears to have been published. Compare a vase of similar form, but with tubular handles and decorated in enamels with rocks and bamboo in the style of an ink painting, with a Qianlong reign mark and of the period, from the Sir Percival David Collection in the British Museum, London, included in the travelling exhibition For the Imperial Court.
