The deep rounded walls of the jardiniere is finely 'pencilled' in dark blue outline and filled with a paler blue wash with four lotus clusters comprising lotus blooms, pods, leaves and millet emerging from rolling waves above a band of upright lappet panels. The barbed rim is decorated with a band of classic scroll and the foot with four detached scrolling motifs. The base with an aperture in the centre is unglazed, wood stand, box.
