the eight-sided cup flaring towards a lipped rim, each side with a molded and dark-brown and russet painted figure of an entertainer, the base with an impressed wave pattern above a band of dark-brown painted overlapping petals, all supported on a splayed foot, the interior inscribed ren at the base, all on an ivory-colored ground, Japanese wood box.
