The sweeping crest rail, reinforced by baitong mounts, terminates in outswept hooks above shaped stiles and forms an elegant curve above the slightly curved back splat which is finely carved with a stylized ruyi head flanked by shaped spandrels. The soft mat seat is set within a beaded, rectangular frame raised on rounded-square legs and with beaded, shaped aprons, carved with scrolling tendrils. The legs are joined by stepped stretchers and a foot rest supported above plain stretchers.
