Ouverture d'une boutique Y-3 à Miami
At first glance, Y-3's new Miami store (which opens next week) looks nothing like its more flamboyant surroundings. But the space bows to its home in two more subtle ways: Firstly, and unsurprisingly, its stock skews more toward lightweight clothes and swimwear than, say, what you'll find at the label's recently opened Paris location. More to the point, the 1,453-square-foot space includes a top floor reserved for private events and special exhibitions—ideal for its Design District location. (A company rep tells us they have a "special project" planned for December's Art Basel, though nothing is confirmed just yet.) The store is part of the brand's fifth-anniversary retail rollout, which continues next February with Y-3's first-ever New York outpost, to be located in the Meatpacking District. Should be interesting to see how Yohji blends in there. Paul L. Underwood, http://men.style.com (Photo: Courtesy of Y-3)
