FROM THE COLLECTION OF MME PICHA-EISENSTEIN

Madame Mary Picha-Eisenstein was born in Vienna in 1901, where she lived until moving to Paris with her son in 1935. A dear friend of Suzanne Belperron and only one year her senior, Mme Picha-Eisenstein regularly sought out Mme Belperron to make jewels for her personal collection. Admiring of her talent, she often recommended Mme Belperron to famous actors and actresses whom she knew through her husband, Boris Eisenstein, founder of the “Société Parisienne de Sonorisation”, the company responsible for dubbing Disney and James Bond movies. A regular at the Cannes Film Festival, she mixed with the likes of Charlie Chaplin, Marlene Dietrich, Cary Grant and her good friends Michèl Morgan, Walt and Roy Disney. For such events, she paired her extravagant evening gowns with parures created by Mme Belperron. Her affection for her friend’s beautiful creations continued until Mme Picha-Eisenstein’s passing in 1988.
