of deep rounded form with sides rising to flaring rim, on short circular foot in the form of lobed petals surrounding a flower head, the sides thinly carved with a frieze of cartouches filled with floral sprays within narrow borders of foliate motifs, the semi-translucent stone with dark inclusions, in later fitted box - 15 cm. diameter of rim, 5.8 cm. height
Provenance: Collection of Imre Schwaiger, a Hungarian art dealer based in India in the early 20th century (by repute)
