The pale green jade hilt of pistol-grip form with swelling grip, the knuckle-guard with a bud-shaped gilt pommel set at the centre with a red gemstone, delicately inlaid overall with floral designs, the petal and leaves elegantly inset with diamonds.
Note: Compare with a similar Mughal-style jade sword hilt inset with semi-precious stones, 18th century, which was sold at Christie's London, 17 May 2013, lot 1266.
