The deep sides rising to a flared rim, painted around the sides in tones of vibrant cobalt-blue with a pair of striding dragons in pursuit of a 'flaming pearl', the base inscribed with a six-character mark in underglaze blue.
Provenance: Formerly in a Swiss private collection.
Note: Compare with a small wine cup similarly decorated with striding dragons but painted in yellow enamels, illustrated in Mayuyama Junkichi, Mayuyama, Seventy Years, Vol.I, Tokyo, 1976, p.285, no.854.
