Note: With its luminous white glaze delicately suffused with a natural crackle over a refined clay body, the present cup exemplifies the rare high-fired white wares of the Sui dynasty.
 

Compare a slightly smaller example (8.8cm diam) in the Xi'an Institute of Cultural Relics Preservation, illustrated in Complete Collection of Ceramic Art Unearthed in China, vol. 15: Shaanxi, Beijing, 2008, p. 14, no. 14; and a slightly larger example (12.2cm diam) recently sold at Christie's Hong Kong, 30 October 2025, lot 1019.
