A nude Maenad stands before a stele. Her slender body, with a high waist, is depicted in three-quarter front view, her head gracefully bowed. Her simple hairstyle consists of hair parted in the middle and curled at the temples and nape of the neck. In her lowered right hand, the Maenad holds a thyrsus, and in her slightly raised left hand, with delicately spread fingers, a phallus suspended from a ribbon.
