Timorous Beasties, a Scottish company known for its quietly subversive take on textiles, has arrived stateside, with its first product designed for an American company. Liquid Floral, a wallpaper produced for Anthropologie, comes in two neo-Victorian motifs with black flocking on a gray background.
The central elements of the two patterns line up, so they can be mixed and matched. “We have long wanted to experiment with flocking,” said Alistair McAuley, a cofounder of Timorous Beasties, adding that the company also wanted to make an affordable wallcovering (its papers often sell for more than $1,000 a roll).
