Two Continental Snuff-Flasks - Each 18th Century, Probably Dutch
Lot No: 115. The first with walrus-ivory body of flattened oval section tapering to form a turned compressed nozzle on a petalled collar, the nozzle with walrus-ivory stopper secured by a silver chain, the body carved in low relief with symmetrical scrolling foliage within line borders, the silver base-plate engraved with foliage and with pivoting silver cover with hook catch and pricked with owner's initials 'U.A.W.'; the second with slightly curved faceted horn body (split) with silver basal mount and nozzle each engraved with foliage, the former with border engraved pivoting cover, the latter with sprung stopper secured by a chain (2). 13.4 cm. and 10.9 cm - Estimate: £450 - 550
