The high-shouldered body exquisitely decorated with a dramatic rendition of pheasants, sparrows and other types of birds frolicking in a bamboo grove overgrown with lush spring foliage in full bloom and reversed by a scene of flowering autumn plants and grasses below a Japanese maple sheltering a solitary hawk, all minutely executed gold and silver cloisons on a mirror black ground, a jeweled lappet band suspended from the flaring mouth, a complementary foliate-patterned stiff leaf band and flower-centered shippo-tsunagi ribbon encircling the base, silver edge bands. 14 3/4in (37.4cm) high - Sold for $8,500 plus Premium and tax
