Lot Notice : Mourad Hatik Born in Algiers, Mourad Hatik and his family moved to Switzerland in 1956 to escape the French-Algerian war. After an initial period as a banker, Mourad Hatik soon realised he needed a more creative activity, preferably one which could utilize his passion for gemstones. In 1975, he established his own business dealing in the world’s finest and most extraordinary gems. His work, which took him all over the world, resulted in him becoming a leading authority and renowned collector of coloured stones in particular. Having supplied the world’s top jewellers for over 30 years with the finest gems, Mourad Hatik recently decided to take on the challenges of jewellery design. Under his brand name, HATIK, he now designs, assembles and oversees the entire creative process of his jewellery, using unique gemstones of exceptional quality from his personal collection. His Geneva-based workshops are renowned for their outstanding craftsmanship resulting in exquisite jewels. Much like the jewellery he designs, Mourad Hatik is a man of good taste but also of discretion. For this reason his pieces may only be viewed exclusively at private exhibitions and by appointment only.
