A blue and white soft-paste baluster vase. 18th century
Modelled with a short neck above sides gently tapering to a recessed base, the sides moulded with two quatrefoil panels, one enclosing a painting of a scholar riding a carp against turbulent waves, the other with the goddess Magu navigating her way across the waters, all against a fish-roe pattern ground with moulded floral sprays in reserve, with a band of flower heads at the rim. 29.7cm (11¾in) high.- Estimate: £4,000 - 6,000 - Unsold.
