A Turkish Jambiya Set With Coral And Turquoise. 19th century

With double-edged blade decorated with panels of gold koftgari foliage framing brief Arabic inscriptions on both sides, the hilt entirely encased in white metal, the inner face chased with flowers, the outer face gilt and profusely studded with shaped coral plaques and turquoise beads all in raised settings, and the scabbard en suite (minor pieces of inlay missing). 17 1/8in (43.5cm).  Estimate £600 - £800 ($916 - $1,222) - Price Realized £2,500 ($3,892)
