The compressed globular body supported on a short splayed foot, gently curving at the shoulder and rising to a tapering cylindrical neck, covered all over in a rich mottled olive-green glaze, Japanese wood box. 33.5cm (13 1/4in) high. Sold for HK$420,000

A Qianlong teadust-glazed vase of similar form in the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, is illustrated in Rose Kerr, Chinese Ceramics: Porcelain of the Qing Dynasty 1644-1911, London, 1986, pl. 25; another is illustrated in Regina Krahl, Chinese Ceramics from the Meiyintang Collection, vol. 2, London, 1994, p.257, no. 936.
