the globular body rising from a spreading foot to a tall waisted neck gently flaring at the rim, painted in bright shades of cobalt-blue with a scene from Sanguo yanyi(Romance of the Three Kingdoms) depicting an armoured dignitary followed by his troops and gesturing towards a figure holding a flag, all below a floral scroll band, the neck with stylised tulip sprays alternating with four of the eight babao; 37cm., 14 5/8 in. Estimation 10,000 - 15,000 GBP
