The ivory panel painted in fine detail with a Chinese lady wearing a ribbed turban and chandelier earrings set with pearls, the soft blue robe embroidered around the cloud collar and cuffs with floral scrolls and the hands clasped in her lap, all against a plain greenish-brown ground, framed in gilt and behind glass and further enclosed within a heavy wood frame carved in each corner with prunus blossoms issuing from Western-style foliate scrolls. The painting 10cm (4in) high. Estimate £2,000 - 3,000 (€2,400 - 3,600). Unsold.
