inscribed "Yu yan wen bao" - Dense openwork carving depicting confronting dragons playing with a flaming pearl and dragons en face decorating the short sides. The lid of the box bears a centre motif of dragons flanking a cartouche with carved inscriptions. This refers to the four treasures of the studio made for imperial use. It is known from brush handles and writing boxes alike. Minor restoration at corners and edges, age cracks, few stains. 15,5x26x9,5 cm. Estimate 60 000 - 90 000 €.
