A blue and white 'Lotus' bowl, Kangxi six-character mark in underglaze-blue within a double-circle and of the period (1662-1722). Photo Christie's Image Ltd 2014.
The bowl is potted with tall rounded sides rising to a flaring mouth rim and supported on a short tapered foot. The exterior is painted in shades of cobalt blue to depict stylised lotus flower heads with scrolling leaves above a lappet band. The interior is decorated with a further lotus flower head. 6 ? in. (16.3 cm.) diam. Estimate £8,000 – £12,000 ($13,504 - $20,256)
