of eight-pointed stellar form, decorated in lustre over an opacified tin glaze with inglaze cobalt blue, featuring two gazelles within a foliiate background with a bird flying above, border with stylised blue design, old collection label to reverse '59'; 20.3cm.
Note: Poetry was an important source of inspiration for Kashan potters, and the gazelle, a particularly popular motif, represents the metaphor for elusive beauty.
