The bowl has deep rounded sides and is freely carved in the interior with peony, loquat and chrysanthemum. The exterior is carved with two bands of upright lotus petals below a band of floral scroll. The whole is covered with a glaze of soft olive-green color that continues over the foot onto the base where there is an unglazed ring burnt orange in the firing. 8 ½ in. Provenance: Acquired from the prominent art dealer Ikedo Kozando, Osaka, early 20th century.
