The vase is sturdily potted with a pear-shaped body rising from the ring foot to a slender neck and flared mouth rim, covered overall with a deep violet glaze streaked with lavender-blue and purplish-red, thinning to a crackled mushroom colour at the mouth rim. The base is unglazed revealing the buff body. 16 1/4 in. (41.4 cm.) high
Provenance: A Japanese family collection, Kobe, acquired in the 1920s to 1930s
