A wucai baluster jar with women making music, Shunzhi period, c.1645-1660, porcelain, h 46cm × d 20cm. AK-NM-6462. Rijskmuseum, Amsterdam.
Baluster jar at a slightly indented, unglazed bottom and spreading foot. High neck with ribbed and brown glazed rim . Decorated in underglaze blue and two shades different emails : two shades of green , dark and light iron red, black and yellow. The contours of the painting are black enamel . On one side, a landscape with a lady and four female servants , two with large fans. On the other side a terrace with six women who make music and dancer. A big rock and a banana plant close to the scene. On the shoulder of the jar a band with a motif of broken ice ; around the neck and rocks blossom branches. The cover is missing.
