of bulbous form surmounted by an everted ridged neck, chased and engraved with floral stems within arched panels, the petals and leaves set with rubies and emeralds; 17cm. height.
Note: A huqqa base decorated in the same technique, with a floral pattern chased in relief but without any gemstones, is in the Al-Sabah Collection, Kuwait National Museum, inv. no. LNS 1102M. The combination of the relief pattern set with colourful gemstones can be seen on a sword hilt, locket and chape in the same Museum, inv. no. LNS 2158 Ja-c.
