"Having worked with diamonds my entire life, I can easily say that diamonds have personality, just like we humans have. This idea intrigues me and one reason why in my paintings diamonds are not specimens, they have story and soul. In the Diamond Portrait Series, I explore what makes a diamond a diamond. Through diamond portraitures, I hope to tease out the personality, the deep insight and essence that these diamonds carry within and even express my emotions towards them. For me it's more than an insatiable need to record, it's like having an intimate conversation.
