the tapered sides rising to a broad shoulder surmounted by a short neck with lipped rim, decorated to the exterior with peony blossoms borne on undulating leafy scrolling stems, repeated at the shoulder, all between a band of upright leaves at the neck and petal lappets around the foot, the base with a six-character mark in underglaze blue. Height 9 in., 23 cm
