the ovoid body rising from a splayed foot to a tall cylindrical neck, decorated in high relief with a chilongclambering around the neck, covered overall in a teadust glaze, the base with a four-character seal mark reading Taiping huanle ('peace and happiness').
Provenance: Collection of T.Y. Chao (1912-1999), and thence by descent in the family.
