Lot 1. A 1.13 Carat Round Diamond, F Color, Internally Flawless. Estimate 12,000 - 15,000 USD. Courtesy Sotheby's.
Though it may be the smallest stone included in this auction, this gem proves that a diamond’s quality is much more than its weight in carats. What makes this diamond especially rare is its clarity grading of IF, or Internally Flawless. Since diamonds are formed over centuries of enduring heat and pressure deep within the earth, they often include slight mineral inclusions that can hinder a stone’s sparkle. But, being Internally Flawless, this diamond is virtually free from any inclusions, so it radiates an exceptionally clear, bright light.
Accompanied by GIA report no. 2175849354 stating that the diamond is F color, Internally Flawless, with Excellent Cut, Polish and Symmetry.
Lot 2. A 2.02 Carat Round Diamond, I Color, VS2 Clarity. Estimate 22,000 - 28,000 USD. Courtesy Sotheby's.
At 2.02 carats, this Round Brilliant cut diamond is an ideal size for everyday wear. Traditionally the most desirable cut for engagement rings, Round Brilliants are characterized by an abundance of meticulously aligned facets that are angled to maximize the diamond’s light-refracting capabilities — all of which adds up to a stone with eye-catching sparkle. With very slight inclusions and a subtly warm tone, this diamond has quality and character in equal measure.

Lot 3. A 3.04 Carat Pear-Shaped Diamond, I Color, VS1 Clarity. Estimate 40,000 - 50,000 USD. Courtesy Sotheby's.
Pear-shaped diamonds, like this 3.04 carat stunner, are one of the most technically challenging to produce. The distinctive silhouette is a marriage of elongated marquise cuts and classic rounds, creating an elegant shape with big, bold facets on one end and a concentrated sparkle on the other. It’s a timeless, feminine cut that’s been used on several historically important stones, including the Cullinan I — one of the stars of the British crown jewels.
Accompanied by GIA report no.6285488595 stating that the diamond is I color, VS1 clarity with Excellent Polish and Symmetry.
Lot 4. A 4.02 Carat Round Diamond, E Color, VS1 Clarity. Estimate 175,000 - 200,000 USD. Courtesy Sotheby's.
This impactful 4.02 carat diamond features a winning combination of superlative size, cut and color. A diamond’s color is graded on a scale from D to Z. So, at E, this diamond has a nearly perfect tone, meaning it is truly colorless and radiates a pristine light. Such a distinction is especially rare for a diamond of this size and is amplified by the many facets of its Round Brilliant cut.
Accompanied by GIA report no.1152315796 stating that the diamond is E color, VS1 clarity with Excellent Cut, Polish and Symmetry.
Lot 5. A 5.24 Carat Square Emerald-Cut Diamond, L Color, VS1 Clarity. Estimate 60,000 - 80,000 USD. Courtesy Sotheby's.
The sleek, linear facets of emerald-cut diamonds, like this sizable 5.24 carat stone, lend them a bold, modern character. Though they may not be the most conventional choice, emerald-cut diamond engagement rings have graced the hands of such style icons as Jacqueline Kennedy and Elizabeth Taylor. This diamond is notable for its scale and enviable sparkle from every angle.
Accompanied by GIA report no. 2145558271 stating that the diamond is L color, VS1 clarity with Very Good Polish and Symmetry.
