the exterior carved with a continuous scene of a mountainous riverscape with thatched cottages with the details further incised, one side carved with a lone fisherman sailing across the river in a sampan with a fishing rod while a scholar meditates below a pine tree in the distance, all below wispy cloud scrolls and towering mountains, the other side further carved with mountains and craggy rockwork, the underside centred with a slight circular depression containing a six-character apocryphal Jiajing mark in underglaze blue, all beneath a transparent glaze.
