of circular form, carved in shallow relief depicting Budai wearing loose open robes walking under a pine tree and holding a stick suspending a cloth bag, all against different diaper grounds indicating the sky and the land, the sides of the box and cover carved with key-fret bands, the interior and base lacquered black, Japanese wood box (4).
