the compressed globular body supported on three lion mask cabriole legs and cast around the shoulder with lotus and stiff leaf bands divided by a large pair of S-shaped handles, the detachable straight-sided collar cast and pierced with a broad 'Three Friends of Winter' band, repeated on the domed cover and all surmounted by a coiled dragon finial, cast around the neck with a seven-character mark corresponding to 1723.
Provenance: Collection of Gustav Detring (1842-1913) and/or Constantin von Hanneken (1854-1925), and thence by descent.
