of oval section, surmounted by a deftly carved recumbent bixie with its head powerfully turned towards its back, its curled horn and tail realistically rendered, the seal face carved in positive seal script with a four-character inscription reading qing tie shan fang, the stone of a warm amber-honey colour.
Provenance: Christie's Hong Kong, 6th November 1997, lot 1018.
Note: he studio on the seal is named after a collection of Wang Xizhi's (321-379 A.D) calligraphy called Qing Tie.
