With shallow rounded sides painted on the exterior with six lanca characters positioned above lotus sprigs, within single and double blue line borders.

Note: These cups are based on Chenghua prototypes such as one in the Qing Court Collection illustrated in The Complete Collection of Treasures of the Palace Museum: Blue and White Porcelain with Underglaze Red (II), Hong Kong, 2000, p. 35, no. 32, which is decorated with a line of lancacharacters above a band of stylized lotus at the foot. A single Yongzheng-marked cup of this type and of the same size was sold in our Hong Kong rooms, 27 May 2008, lot 1824.
