Made for a fourth rank official, the front badge is finely embroidered with a goose standing on one leg, with the head facing the sun and the wings outstretched, surrounded by colourful scrolling clouds characteristic of the Kangxi period, all set against a gleaming gold ground.

Provenance: A private Swedish collection sold by Linda Wrigglesworth Ltd during the early 1990s.
