modelled after a couch-bed, the top frame of standard mitre, mortise and tenon construction and surmounted by the back and arms with an elegant curvilinear outline, the edge of the frame moulding inwards and downwards into a narrow band and resting on a constricted waist and a wide beaded-edged cusped apron on all four sides between straight legs ending in hoof feet above a rectangular base stretcher, the finely grained timber patinated to a dark reddish brown colour with characteristic silver flecks.
